What are orthotics?

Orthotics are a custom-made medical device that must be prescribed by your family physician or a specialist. These shoe inserts are designed to support problem spots in your feet, and can also help relieve ankle, heel, leg and back pain. By redistributing the pressure on the bottom of your feet, you will reduce discomfort, pain, and calluses as well as decrease pain experienced with various activities.

Orthotics are also commonly used to help with: plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, flat feet, bunions, hammer toes, arthritis, low back pain, bursitis, diabetes, high arches, leg length discrepancies

At Durand Health, our chiropodists and our chiropractors offer custom orthotics. At your appointment, a custom mold or scan will be taken of your foot in order to design an orthotic with unique modifications that will control the alignment and function of your foot.

Depending on your insurance coverage, orthotics may be fully or partially covered. Please call or email to learn more.
