We are pleased to announce that Dr. Melvin Philip will join Durand Health as Director of Preventive Medicine and Chronic Disease Management as of April 2025.

Melvin Philip, MD is CPSO certified in internal medicine and palliative & hospice care. Dr. Philip attended McMaster University and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, Barbados. He completed his residency in internal medicine and was named resident of the year in his final year at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. He went on to complete a palliative and hospice care fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine in Queens, New York. After completing his medical training, he worked as a primary care physician for Brown University in Rhode Island. Dr. Philip is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Ontario Medical Association and Hamilton Academy of Medicine.

• Chronic Disease Prevention and Management: hypertension, diabetes, mixed hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary diseases, non-inflammatory arthritis, depression and anxiety.
