Pilates is famously known for focusing on the core, however, it’s also great for anyone who wants to improve their posture, develop back strength, rebalance the muscles around the joints and for overall health and wellness. Many of the practitioners at Durand Health recommend pilates as a way to improve postural control, help with injury recovery and improve athletic performance. With thousands of possible exercises and modifications, Pilates workouts can be tailored to just about everyone!

Mat VS Reformer

Pilates can be performed on the floor on a mat or on a specially designed piece of equipment called a Reformer. The reformer is a bed-like frame with a flat platform that moves back and forth on wheels and creates a challenging new way to exercise using the Pilates method! Resistance is created using different tensioned springs that can be adjusted to modify the workout for different skill levels and body types.

At Durand Health we offer both Mat and Reformer pilates for all levels of fitness. We want to make fitness fun and accessible for all so we invite you to join us for a private or semi-private Reformer class.
