How it Works

Dermal fillers are used to contour and/ or restore volume loss that occurs with the natural aging process. Fillers are ideal for patients wanting to look:

  • Less tired
  • Less Sad
  • Less Saggy
  • Less Angry

What are Dermal Fillers?

The most commonly used dermal fillers are made of a gel containing hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the skin. The HA gel integrates nicely in with the skin, making it virtually impossible to see or feel the difference between your own tissue and the product. Because HA is not foreign to the human body, it will eventually break down over time. HA fillers can also be easily dissolved in the case of a complication or undesired result.

How long do Fillers last?

Depending on the area of the face that is being treated, the density of the filler will vary making some more long-lasting than others. The amount of animation in the treatment zone also plays a role in the longevity of your filler. An area like the lips that is moving product will break down much faster than filler in the cheeks or chin.
